Neither mud nor ice nor freezing stop make the Petzl Ascension loosen its hold. The cam has self-cleaning, slanted teeth that seize the rope, yet release without snagging.

- New cam has a slot to get rid of water, ice or mud, and teeth designed to slide up the rope more easily and grip it positively when required.
- Insulated hand grip and one-handed locking mechanism
- Yellow for left-handed use, blue for right-handed use.
- Increased strength on smaller diameter ropes (4.2 kN on an 8 mm dynamic rope)
