Apply to Win a Grant from Summit Hut
As a company that encourages and enables outdoor exploration, we feel a deep connection to our environment. To that end, we feel that it is necessary for us to do everything we can to help preserve that environment, educate its users and encourage safe and responsible behavior in the outdoors. Each year Summit Hut hosts the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, a collection of inspirational mountain culture films with an environmental message. For the last few years, a portion of the proceeds has been donated back to our community (last year's grants were $2,000 each). We are now taking applications for the 2012 grants.
The Process
The application process is now closed. Thanks so much to our 18 wonderful applicants! all applications will be reviewed by the Summit Hut Grant Team and narrowed down to our five finalists based on impact and reach in the Tucson/Southern Arizona community. The five finalists will each receive two tickets to the Banff Mountain Film Festival and be invited to set up an informational table at the event.
The five finalists would be presented to and voted on by our customers from February 15th through March 15th. The winners of the $2,000 grants will be announced at the Banff Mountain Film Festival on Saturday, March 24th and Sunday March, 25th at the Fox Theatre, and the three runners-up will receive $250 Summit Hut gift cards to help in their programs.
