Dragoons, Chiricahuas, Cochise, Tombstone. . . .names that hark back to the Old West. All are associated with the lands that now make up the Coronado National Forest.
The Coronado totals almost 2 milliion acres in 12 units, mountain ranges that rise like islands from a sea of desert sand. This map presents three of those units, the Dragoon, Chiricahua, and Peloncillo ranges which lie in the southeastern corner of Arizona.
